Charles Dunlop has represented businesses of all sizes since the 1980s. This representation includes negotiating and drafting contracts and, when necessary, litigating those contracts. Mr. Dunlop has litigated in many other areas of law as well. These areas include: will contests, divorce, probate, and employment discrimination and harassment. Mr. Dunlop has prepared and advised both businesses and individuals on employee handbooks.

Professionally, Charles Dunlop taught at The John Marshall law School for 7 years as a member of the adjunct faculty (1987-1994). Mr. Dunlop was later asked by the presiding judge for the Northern District of Illinois to serve on a panel to develop mediation rules for the Northern District of Illinois Federal Court. Once the rules were adopted, Mr. Dunlop was in the first group of lawyers to become certified Federal Mediators.

Charles Dunlop has lectured in various states on recognizing and preventing sexual harassment in the work place. During his career, Mr. Dunlop has been active in various community organizations such as the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Police Pension Board, and the Police and Fire Board where he served as a police commissioner for 12 years.

Mr. Dunlop has lectured extensively to financial planners, accountants, and business owners on the benefits and effects of using the Illinois Business Corporation Act. Mr. Dunlop also created Defensive Business Solutions, Inc. a company designed to, among other things, inform and educate business owners on effective business solutions to everyday employee issues including how to recognize and avoid sexual harassment in the work place.
